This past fall I was invited as an a social innovator to be a guest at @HatchExperience

HATCH is a community, movement, and a series of experiences designed to activate creativity to “Hatch a better world.”

It was a four day mental outward bound with the most amazing people I have ever met. Yes, there are names you would know and be impressed by and all that jazz. However, the person I’d like to write about now is someone you probably haven’t heard of (yet).

Jeffrey Sparr is an artist and humanitarian who has turned his whole life struggle into a beautiful movement and message.

Here is more of a deeper dive.

The Platform is A Creative Voice for Mental Illness.

Unlike cancer survivors wearing a band to signify their strength, resilience, community and triumph, there is no such zeitgeist for those who struggling with mental illness. Here is my personal connection.

I was lucky to meet Glenn Close at Social Innovation Summit 2013 and learned that she, too, has been touched by this illness and has used her voice to erradicate shame associated with the struggle.

Change a mind about mental illness . . .
So, if you are anywhere near Pawtucket — please meet this community.
